About OCEE

The DF/HCC Office of Cancer Equity and Engagement combines Community Outreach and Engagement (COE) and the Initiative to Eliminate Cancer Disparities (IECD) to ensure that DF/HCC research impacts all residents of Massachusetts and responds to community needs and desires while at the same time eliminating racial, ethnic, and socioeconomic disparities in cancer prevention, outcomes, care, and survivorship.

Goals
  • Engage Massachusetts communities through:
    • ​Prioritization and Monitoring of cancer needs in MA
    • Research that impacts on cancer in MA
    • Clinical and translational research
    • Community Education
  • Enhance research on cancer disparities
  • Support faculty diversity
  • Amplify culturally competent care
  • Facilitate access of underserved populations in clinical trials
  • Create training opportunities to attract and engage the best and brightest to careers in cancer
